No Retreat/ No Surrender

Following the recommendation of Space Astonomy why not head on over to http://witchpolice.blogspot.com/2010/01/time-travel-no-retreatno-surrender.html for a rare comp from Winnipeg or download it here. http://www.archive.org/download/VariousArtists-NoRetreatnoSurrender/VariousArtists-NoRetreatnoSurrender_vbr_mp3.zip Nothing too amazing here, but you may find some tracks you like as it's pretty varied and DIY. A little too emo, pop punk and ska for my liking although Grandpa's Army do a nice two tone sound ala The Specials. The two bands that stood out for me were Naked Midgets and Pratle. Runners up were 7-Teen, Just For Kicks , My Checkered Past.

Thanks for spreading the word.

Glad to hear you liked Grandpa's Army, too. That's my old band.

We also have over 100 Grandpa's Army songs for free download on the blog (a lot of them are shitty basement recordings, but some of it is really good) here: http://witchpolice.blogspot.com/2009/04/every-grandpas-army-song-ever.html

Also, kind of hilarious that the Naked Midgets and Pratle were your two favourites, because those were the two bands in the scene who were most-often mocked for being terrible.

The 2004 follow-up comp, which may be more up your alley:

Not sure where to post this but I wanted to ask if anyone has heard of National Clicks?

Can someone help me find it?

Overheard some co-workers talking about it all week but didn't have time to ask so I thought I would post it here to see if someone could help me out.

Seems to be getting alot of buzz right now.

Thanks
